About Us

Based in Moorabbin, Victoria, G.C. Sutherland is an Australian owned business manufacturer and fabricator of canvas goods and PVC products. Geoff Sutherland, the founder of the company and still very active in its operation, began the business back in 1959 after originally working with the late G.V. Mulder in Caulfield. Working alongside Geoff in the business today and preparing for future growth and success of the business is his son, Glenn, and daughter, Leanne.

Sutherland's ability to deliver has seen us involved in several major emergency situations. We were one of the major suppliers of tarpaulins for the rebuilding of Darwin after Cyclone Tracy, air freighting them to Darwin on a daily basis. We have also been involved in exporting products to China, Papua New Guinea, Pago Pago as well as supplying tennis court covers to Dubai.

Locally we are suppliers to the Department of Defence as well as companies involved in oil exploration and transport among many other industries.

After 68 years in the industry, Geoff remains passionate about Australian manufacturing, adapting his business over time to suit market trends, community needs and technological change. As retirement looms closer, the tradition looks set to continue with Geoff's son Glenn already pursuing new avenues of growth for the future.
